The Youth League is held on Friday afternoons. We have been in contact with the three High Schools in the area and there has been an expression of interest. It is expected that High School students will form a Junior League and hopefully become an ongoing League. Initially coaches will help develop skills and subsequently provide advice on strategy. Day & Time: Friday afternoons from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Fee: $75 to curl one day a week for ten weeks.

The Sunday Novice League provides a relaxed atmosphere for curlers who have attended an introductory clinic and who wish to put their new skills to the test. These sessions are flexible and typically involve coaching assistance during the first 30 minutes (approximately), followed by a fun game for the remainder of the session. As player skill level improves, many teams will forego the coaching part of the session and go straight to a curling match against their favorite rival! Day & Time: Sunday afternoons from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Fee: $80 to curl one day a week for eight weeks.

The Competitive League is open to all women and men curlers aged 50 and over. For this league, teams can be comprised of all men, all women, or mixed gender. The league was created to give both senior and master curlers the opportunity to gain more experience playing other competitive teams prior to entering bonspiels and playdowns. We encourage any South Island curlers to form women's, men's or mixed teams. We also keep a spare list for those who were unable to secure a position this year but would still like to participate on short notice. Day & Time: Monday at 12:30pm.
Fee: $175 to curl one day each week.
For further information, contact the Competitive League Director, Lawrence Woytowich (Tel: 250 655-1602). |
