Maitreya Project Heart Shrine Relic Tour
Surrey Art Centre
This extremely rare and precious collection of ancient and sacred Buddhist relics is currently touring the world. Upon completion of the magnificent 500-foot/152-metre Maitreya Buddha statue being built in Northern India by the Maitreya Project, the relics will be permanently enshrined in the Heart Shrine Room, in about 5 years time.

Relics of Saints and other holy persons—either their personal belongings or fragments of their bodies that do not decay——have been treasured since the beginning of human civilization. Due to the purity of the spiritual master's mind, small crystalline, pearl-like deposits called ringsel appear within the ashes when the body is cremated.
