Whistler 'Kids of Steel' Volunteer Info
The Whistler Triathlon Club would really appreciate your help in making the event as successful as possible. If you can volunteer some time during the triathlon weekend, please contact us. We try our best to show our appreciation of the volunteers' efforts by providing good food and refreshing drinks and of course numerous quality draw prizes for volunteers only!
Volunteer Roles and Some of the Duties and Responsibilities
TriKids race volunteer (food and awards)
- 07:00 - 13:00
- Check-in, body marking, transition and course marshaling, food and awards
Race Bag pick-up Friday
- 10:00 - 18:00
- Check master list, hand out race bags and shirts, greet and meet the athletes
Body marking and check-in
- 07:00 - 07:45
- Check names on master list, number athletes on arms and legs, wish athletes good luck!
Parking Marshal
- 07:00 - 08:00
- Direct cars to parking lots, give general directions, welcome athletes
Transition and Security marshal
- 07:45 - 11:30
- Various roles: direct athletes to the bike and run course, make transition area available to athletes only, cheer on the athletes, communicate with Race Staff, record cyclist laps, timing back-up, collect race timing chips.
Swim Course Volunteers
- 07:15 - 09:00
- Direct and assist swimmers in the water. Count laps.
Bike Course Marshal
- 07:45 - 11:00
- Direct and encourage athletes on the bike course, communicate with Bike Captain.
Run Course Marshal
- 09:00 - 12:30
- Direct and encourage athletes on the run course, give runners the right-of-way, stop the odd vehicle if necessary, record athletes at the turn-around point.
