Welcome to the website
of the Courtenay Airpark
This small public aerodrome
is located on the banks of the Courtenay River, within easy walking distance
of the downtown core of the city of Courtenay, in the beautiful Comox Valley,
Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
With its hard-surface 1800ft
runway, adjacent floatplane facilities and central location, the Courtenay
Airpark is a year-round favoured destination for many aviators, both from
Canada and the US. In addition to the plethora of amenities offered by local
restaurants, malls, shops and hotels/motels, the airpark itself includes
an on-field cafe, aircraft maintenance shop, flight school and aircraft
charter businesses. The
Airpark is also one of the few airfields still in existence where the public
is able to get a close-up view of light aircraft, both wheeled and on floats,
during landings and take-offs. It is truly an 'air-park' as it is ringed
by the pathways of the Courtenay River Walkway and associated nature parkland.
Although owned by the City of
Courtenay, the Airpark is managed and operated by a volunteer organization
(The Courtenay Airpark Association) and serves not only Courtenay but all
surrounding communities and localities in the Comox Valley. Please take a
tour of the rest of our website too....if you haven't visited before, there
is much information, photos and even live webcams, which will give you the
'flavour' of the place. Should you have questions or comments, please see
the 'Contact Us' page.
We hope to see you soon - The
