Labor Ready slithers across the border

Labor Ready, the anti-union temp agency that is harassing building and construction trades unions and others in numerous American states, is causing serious troubles in Canada.

Things have gotten so bad that the Canadian Building and Construction Trades Council have launched a campaign to publicize possible violations of Canadian labour laws.

"It appears they have imported their egregious anti-union practices into our country and we will not stand for it," said council director Robert Blakely. "These practices include charging their workers fees to get their daily pay, fees for safety equipment and transportation, failing to pay workers and inadequate measures to protect worker safety."
