Labour leader available for comment after Premier's address

Audrey Cormack, president of the Alberta Federation of Labour, will be available for comment after Premier Ralph Klein makes his televised address to the province this evening.

"Like most Albertans, people in the labour movement want to hear what the Premier has to say tonight," says Cormack. "In particular, we're extremely interested in his plans for health care. Will he finally acknowledge that our hospitals and health facilities are under-funded? Will he make a commitment to stop the spread of private, for-profit health care? We’re looking forward to hearing what the Premier has to say on these issues."

Klein's speech will be aired between 6:45 and 7:00 p.m. this evening. Cormack will be in the Legislature’s rotunda immediately following the address to answer questions from reporters. She can also be reached on her cell phone (499-6530).
