Cormack plans to join hospital strikers on the picket line
Workers deserve public support, says AFL president

EDMONTON -- In the event of a strike at Edmonton-area hospitals, Audrey Cormack, president of the Alberta Federation of Labour, will join strikers on the picket line.

Cormack will join the picket line outside the University Hospital at 6 a.m. tomorrow morning.

"These workers are taking a very courageous stand," says Cormack. "They are standing up in defense of high-quality, public health care. Their goal is a goal that is shared by most Albertans. They deserve the respect and the active support of the public."
