FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 22, 2000Important Notice to All Affiliates The United Steelworkers of America Local 9302, who represent support staff and union representatives at the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees will be on a legal strike as of 8:15 a.m., Monday, September 25, 2000. The Alberta Federation of Labour and the Canadian Labour Congress offices are behind the picket lines in the AUPE Building. The officers and staff will not be in their offices for the duration of the strike, because they will not cross the picket line. Consequently, the AFL will not be doing "business as usual". We will fulfill commitments to affiliates and various public groups to the best of our ability. However, all standing committee meetings, general mail-outs, the Labour News and other business will be on hold, for the time being. We will keep you updated as events continue.
