I've been operating a Sandia fireball camera in my backyard since
summer 2007, provided by Dr Alan Hildebrand, though I had one going a
few years before that from Dr. Martin Connors (see the nice flash for 20010125). It's past time that I
posted some low resolution compressed video of those events, so here
they are on a no frills page. I do have the full AVI if needed for
research.
All dates are UT, as is the clock on the video - the timestamper
drifts, so it gets reset every few months - it can easily be 2 minutes
off, generally ahead of UT.
All files mp4 less than 1Meg. Most browsers will play them directly.
Finally caught the biggie, the Nov 20-21 2008 Buzzard Coulee multiple stone fall
20090121 02:57:24 UT Really
not much to look at, along top left. Almost overhead in Calgary,
something like mag -8 - no flashes from south either, so likely single
srock at best.
20081121 00:26:40 UT Buzzard Coulee meteorite, just in Saskatchewan near Alberta border, south of Lloydminster
20081003 02:28 UT you can only see the airglow flash (above the 3 in the time stamp) for this far southern event.
20080913 05:40 UT upper left quadrant, slowly sliding above the overexposed Moon
20080809 04:53 UT far right middle, nice flash at end
20080527 04:39 UT twilight, far left center, slow
20010125 Jan 26 01:21 UT (this was in MST) upper left, nice final burst. The flickering before that is from tree branches
