2002 Christmas Newsletter

Date: December, 2002

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all family and friends.

It is hard to believe that January 3rd will be our first anniversary at Deli Heights; the year has just flown by. Both Gloria and myself work long hours to make the business a success. At Methanex, where I worked for 22 years, work was a concept, now it's a reality :-)

Some of our more notable moments this year are: Catering to the Olympic skating stars in May. There were ice skating champions from Russia, America and Canada. They were in Medicine Hat for a one-day show. We served them breakfast, lunch and an evening meal. They said it was the best home cooked meal they had had since being on the road. We even managed to get an autographed poster. This is now framed, and had pride of place in the deli.

In July we introduced the English High Tea to Medicine Hat. With homemade preserves, scones, finger sandwiches and desserts it has proven to be a roaring success with the ladies.

"The Tigers", our local ice hockey team, uses our catering for all home games to feed the officials and referees. They have booked our services for January 21st to cater a "Sponsor Appreciation" evening. We are serving a BBQ beef dinner for 125 persons.

Christmas Eve finds us serving dinner to all the family members still in town. We are holding this at the deli, as we do not have a stove at home, we took it to work as one their broke. Everyone is bringing something, but we are supplying the turkey. Over here most people open presents on Christmas Eve. So that is what will be happing after dinner.

No much golf for either Gloria or myself this year. Even Sunday's found us working at the deli.

Wishing everyone in your family the very best of the season and a wonderful and happy new year.

Peace On Earth

With love and best wishes. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Best wishes from Allan and Gloria.
