In Counselling, a therapeutic relationship is built between you and your counsellor. It is built on trust over time. The counselling process is meant to assist individuals and couples in achieving and maintaining effective change. Most people have obstacles to overcome in their lives; some can do it on their own, but most of us cannot. By expressing how you feel, think and behave which will help to clarify your goals, the therapist can help you achieve your desired outcomes.

Coaching can help you create that healthy productive life you have often dreamed about. In a coach you have an objective partner who can hold you accountable as you work toward your goals. This is not like counselling, it is more directive and not intended to be therapeutic, although that can be a secondary benefit. It is a relationship where the coach and client collaborate to define and set goals, and you work toward achieving them with challenge and support from your coach.

Some questions to ask yourself:

  1. How could my life have more meaning?
  2. If I continue as I am right now, what will my future be like?
  3. What if I actively started to design my life starting right now?
  4. Where would I like to be in 6 months, 1 year, and 10 years?
