The original nine holes in Claresholm were opened in 1978.

The course is owned by the Town of Claresholm but run by its members.

In 1999 the members under took looking into expansion.

In 2001 Les Furber was contracted to design the back nine. Mr. Furber indicated that this was a challenge that he had not done in any of his previous endeavours. He moved more earth in this project than any other design as we needed the design to incorporate enough water storage to water the course.

The Town agreed to sign for a loan of $1.2 million with the membership running the course and paying down the loan. The construction also included a $.5 million clubhouse and tournament facility.
