     Wentworth was born in 1829. He was the son of Charles Webster and Elizabeth Wentworth?. Wentworth Webster Rev. appeared on the census of 1851 in the household of Charles Webster at Uxbridge, Middlesex, England; Also listed in the household were William Shed, servant, 26, Richard Ewer, assistant, 23 , Elizabeth M. Herbert, servant 15 , Rachel Rolfe, servant, 24, and Caroline Huggins, servant, 21. Wentworth Webster Rev. married Thekla L. Knipping in 1866.1 Wentworth died on 2 April 1907 at France. He may have been educated at Lincoln College, Oxford. He became an Anglican priest.

He settled in Basque country, France around 1870. He was chaplain at Biarritz and later St. Jean de Luz. He was an expert on life and legends of the Basque people. He wrote "Les Loisirs d'un Elvanger au Pays Basque", 1901 and "Basque Legends", 1877. He later lived at Sare, after his retirement in 1882.

From his Times Obituary ".. he lived in the little Basque Village of Sare in the Lowere Pyrenees, His house overlooking the beautiful valley of Larrhun was well known to all those interested in the Basques and in Spain. It was here that Mr. Gladstone visited him."

Apparently the Mr. Gladstone mentioned also paid Wentworth a pension.

His wife was Elizabeth, 42 of Brighton, Sussex. Also listed was a servant, Ellen Barker, 19. The house was called "Fairfield", which he had built.

He was known as "Gaiters" because he always wore brown leather leggings. As Essay in Uxbridge Library entitled "Peregrinations of a Kiddy"? described him as "A busy man, church warden for several years, and in other ways enterprising." Thomas was born on 7 January 1816. He was the son of Thomas Johnson and Sarah unknown. He married Maria Webster on 21 January 1837. He married Elizabeth Newman after 1872. Thomas died on 23 May 1885 at age 69.
