     Wilfred was born at Valcourt, Shefford Co., Quebec, Canada, on 7 June 1876. He was the son of Jean-Baptiste Boisse and Celina Couture. His common name was John. Wilfred Jean Baptiste Boisse was also known as John Baptist Boisse. He witnessed the census 1900 of Jean-Baptiste Boisse.¹ He married Evelyn Chabot at Plainfield, Windham Co., Connecticut, USA, on 24 November 1902. The marriage license was signed Woilfrid Baptis Boisse on November 17, 1902. The marriage was certified (performed?) November 24, 1902..² His social security number was issued in Massachusetts. He was a carpenter. Wilfred died on 30 July 1963 at 4811 V Street SE Bradbury Height, Washington DC, District of Columbia, Maryland, USA, at age 87.³ His body was interred on 2 August 1963 at Moosup, Windham Co., Connecticut, USA, at All Hallows Church Cemetary.

     Evelyn was born at Saint-Hyacinthe, Saint-Hyacinthe Co., Quebec, Canada, on 11 October 1872. She was the daughter of Magloire Chabot and Philomaire Luscier. She married Frederic Alfred Couture at Moosup, Windham Co., Connecticut, USA, circa 1891. As of circa 1891,her married name was Couture. She married Wilfred Jean Baptiste Boisse at Plainfield, Windham Co., Connecticut, USA, on 24 November 1902. The marriage license was signed Woilfrid Baptis Boisse on November 17, 1902. The marriage was certified (performed?) November 24, 1902..¹ As of 24 November 1902,her married name was Boisse. Evelyn's occupation: speeder tender at Cranska Thread Mill, Moosup, Windham Co., Connecticut, USA, in 1917. Evelyn died on 12 January 1937 at Backus Hospital, Norwich, New London Co., Connecticut, USA, at age 64. On her death certificate her length of residence in the United States was 46 years and 2 months. That would put their emigration to the US at about 1891. Her parents were listed as George Chabot and Philomen Lucier.

Obituary:

Mrs. Evelyn Boisse, 64, died at her home on Daggett Street early this
morning after a two month illness. Having been a resident of this community for 46 years she has many friends who regret to hear of her passing.

She was born in St. Hyacinth, Canada, Oct 11, 1872, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Chabot, and made her home in that city until she was 18 years of age, at which time she came to Moosup with her parents. She was united in marriage to Alfred Couture at Moosup one year later, and while she was employed at the Cranska Thread mill, the marriage taking place 45 years ago.

They had six children who include, Mrs. Joseph Potvin, who died here about five years ago; Sister Theresa of the holy Ghost order, now at the Sacred Heart school in Newport, Vermont; Camille Couture of Washington, D.C., Alfred J. Couture of Seattle, Washington, Alvin E. Couture of Arlington, Washington; and a daughter, Blanche Leona who passed away at the age of three months. All three of her sons are World War Veterans, having seen active service.

Her husband, Alfred Couture passed away in 1900. On Thanksgiving eve, 1902 she was united in marriage to John B. Boisse of Moosup and they had the following children: Mrs. Alphonsine Malbourne of Oneco; George Albert of Moosup; Eli, who died in a double drowning tragedy at the Cranska Dam, Moosup river, 16 years ago; Sister Rose Evelyn of St. Mary's academy, Champlain, New York; Emiliene who was drowned at Beach Pond 10 years ago, Mrs. Theresa Bayne of Washington, D.C., and Private Rosario J. Boisse, Hq. Co. 35th Inf., Schofield barracks, Honolulu, and a daughter, Valida, who died at the age of 14 months.

She also leaves the following sisters, Mrs. Rose Couture of Moosup; Mrs. F.X. LeBlanc of St. Jules, Hyacinth, Canada, Mrs. Francois Riendeau of St. Hyacinth, Canada; and two brothers, both of Canada. She leaves 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. For many years she was employed as a speeder tender at the Cranska mill but retired about 20 years ago to devote her time to her family. She was a charter member of the St. Ann's society and was a member of the St. Jean de Baptist society.

     She married William Laws at Ryton, Durham, England, on 29 December 1733. As of 29 December 1733,her married name was Laws.

     She was deaf and dumb. She was christened at Ovingham, Northumberland, England, on 17 January 1777. Barbara was born at Ovingham, Northumberland, England, in 1777. She was the daughter of Cuthbert Laws (Lawes) and Ann Richardson. Barbara died on 18 August 1854 at Ovingham, Northumberland, England.

     Hannah was born at Ovingham, Northumberland, England, in 1775. She was the daughter of Cuthbert Laws (Lawes) and Ann Richardson. She was christened at Ovingham, Northumberland, England, on 29 November 1775.

     Unknown Laws was the son of Cuthbert Umfreville Laws and Catharine (Kate) Burnett. He was a Sgt/Major in the army. Unknown died on 15 September 1916 at France.

     In the 1881 census he was a student of medicine. Cuthbert was born at Morpeth, Northumberland, England, circa 1861. He was the son of William George Laws and Jane Eleanor C. Shields.

     The 1881 census shows his age as 28, which would put his birth date around 1852/53 rather than 1862. Since he was listed as a university student at Durham, it seems likely that there was a transciption error and he was really 18 rather than 28. William was born on 14 June 1862. He was the son of William George Laws and Jane Eleanor C. Shields. He married Helen Maria Lumby on 27 December 1893. William died on 26 May 1936 at age 73.

     Helen was born at Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, on 22 November 1861. She was the daughter of Joseph Rawson Lumby (Reverend) and Susannah Mary Parsons. She married William George Laws on 27 December 1893. As of 27 December 1893,her married name was Laws. Helen died in May 1939 at age 77.

     Susannah was his first wife. He married Susannah Mary Parsons.

     She married Joseph Rawson Lumby (Reverend). Her married name was Lumby.

     Phillip Umfreville Laws was the son of William George Laws and Helen Maria Lumby. Phillip died circa 1917.

     He was a Colonel in the Royal Engineers in WW1. His body was interred at Sarrat, Hertfordshire, England, at Holy Cross Church. Geoffrey was born on 2 August 1900. He was the son of William George Laws and Helen Maria Lumby. Geoffrey died on 13 August 1979 at age 79.

     John Laws was the son of William George Laws and Helen Maria Lumby.

     Nina Laws was the daughter of William George Laws and Helen Maria Lumby.

     William Gordon Laws was the son of William Laws and Agnes Cart Gordon.

     Hugh Willoughby Laws was the son of William Laws and Agnes Cart Gordon.

     Jane Loundon Laws was the daughter of William Laws and Agnes Cart Gordon.

     In the 1881 census he was a chemist living at High Street, Uxbridge, Middlesex. His wife Annie, daughters Eliza B., 17, Annie W., 15, Mabel, 13, Edith, 10, Ethel, 8, and Mildred 10 months, and sons Alfred, 6, and Charles, 4, lived with him. Also there were Maryann Green, 29, cook, Rose Bowler, 29, nurse, and Maryann Webb, 17, housemaid.

He apparently took over his father's business. He was vicar's warden at St. Margaret's Church and a member of the Board of Guardians and Uxbridge Burial Board. Later he lived at "Elvnfield", Fairfield Road, which he built. John was born circa 1824. He was baptized on 2 July 1830. Religion: (an unknown value). He married Annie Francis Johnson in February 1863. Annie's sister Maria married on the same day.. John died on 20 February 1893.

     Eliza was born in 1864. She was the daughter of John Charles Rayner and Annie Francis Johnson.

     Annie was born in 1866. She was the daughter of John Charles Rayner and Annie Francis Johnson.

     Mabel was born in 1868. She was the daughter of John Charles Rayner and Annie Francis Johnson.

     Edith was born in 1871. She was the daughter of John Charles Rayner and Annie Francis Johnson. She married Charles James Grimsdale on 14 June 1906. As of 14 June 1906,her married name was Grimsdale.

     Ethel was born in 1873. She was the daughter of John Charles Rayner and Annie Francis Johnson.

     Alfred was born in 1875. He was the son of John Charles Rayner and Annie Francis Johnson.

     Charles was born in 1877. He was the son of John Charles Rayner and Annie Francis Johnson. He married Elsie Thatcher on 5 April 1905.

     Mildred was born in 1880. She was the daughter of John Charles Rayner and Annie Francis Johnson. She married Louis F. Adler in 1909. As of 1909,her married name was Adler. Mildred died in 1934.

     Gordon was born circa 1882. He was the son of John Charles Rayner and Annie Francis Johnson.

     In the 1881 census he was a student at Ealing College at Ealing, Middlesex, England. He was 12. The headmaster was 40 year old Charles Taylor who lived at the school with his wife Mary and two daughters. He married unknown Thatcher. John was born in 1869. He was the son of John Charles Rayner and Annie Francis Johnson.
