Jeremiah Rose appeared on the census of 1880 at Windsor, Isle of Wight Co., Virginia, USA; The 1880 census finds a J.T. Rose, a farmer aged 32, living with wife Henrietta 28, sons M.F. Rose 8, W.H. Rose 6, J.E. Rose 4, S.H. Rose 2 and an un-named daughter of 4 months. The age and first initial are right but it is not at all certain that this is Jeremiah. He is certainly nowhere else to be found in the 1880 census.¹

     She married Joseph Washington Rose. Her married name was Rose. Dora was born on 28 March 1887.

     Bethsaday was born at Ohio, USA, circa 1842. She was the daughter of Joseph Henry Rose and Susannah Daugherty. Bethsaday Rose witnessed the census 1850 - free of Joseph Henry Rose; He was a shoe maker. Bethsaday Rose witnessed the census 1860 - free of Joseph Henry Rose; He was farming. Bethsaday and Adaline were keeping house for him.

     From his obituary (Iola Register, Kansas, Monday, June 25, 1923) He died at his home in La Harpe, Kansas. He was reared on a farm near his birthplace in Ohio and at the outbreak of the Civil War he entered in Company C, 72nd regiment, Ohio Vol. Infantry. After the war he entered Cincinnati shipyards.

On October 8, 1868, he married Jane Margaret Snodgrass at Sharonville, New Omega, Ohio and they had five children: W.A. Rose of Florence, Colo., John L. Rose of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Mary Genevieve Rawlings of Mount Vernon, Mo., Mrs. Isabelle Dunlap of Pittsburg, Kans., and Mrs. Birdie Millsap of Konows, Okla., all living. He was a member of the Christian Church at La Harpe, Kans. William was born at Cincinatti, Hamilton Co., Ohio, USA, on 29 August 1843. He was the son of Joseph Henry Rose and Susannah Daugherty. William Ransom Rose witnessed the census 1850 - free of Joseph Henry Rose; He was a shoe maker. He married Jean Margaret Snodgrass on 8 October 1868. William died on 18 June 1923 at La Harpe, Allen Co., Kansas, USA, at age 79.

     Adaline was born at Ohio, USA, circa 1848. She was the daughter of Joseph Henry Rose and Susannah Daugherty. Adaline Rose witnessed the census 1850 - free of Joseph Henry Rose; He was a shoe maker. Adaline Rose witnessed the census 1860 - free of Joseph Henry Rose; He was farming. Bethsaday and Adaline were keeping house for him.

     James was born at Ohio, USA, circa 1835. He was the son of John Andrews (Anders) and Elizabeth Rose. James Andrews married Mary (?). James Andrews witnessed the census 1850 - free of Elizabeth Rose; Also listed on the census was John Black, age 12, born Ohio. James Andrews was census 1860 - free on 12 June 1860 at Liberty Township, Jackson County, Ohio, USA; He was a farmer.

     He was a boatman on the Ohio river. His body was interred at Jackson, Jackson Co., Ohio, USA, at Pleasant Grove Cemetary. Joseph was born in 1820. He was the son of Charles C. Rose and Francina Ann Harless.

     Mary Jane reached early womanhood and died (per 1922 letter). Mary was born circa 1822. She was the daughter of Charles C. Rose and Francina Ann Harless.

     He served as a private in Company F, 173rd Ohio Infantry in the Civil War.

In the 1870 census of Jackson County, Ohio he was shown as a farmer. Also listed were his wife Margaret 39, Ferdinand 18, John 16, Mary 14, Franzina 12, Ann 10, Nancy 8, Charles 4 and Rhody 1, all born Ohio.

The 1880 census also shows James W. 6, and William 3. Ferdinand is no longer with them. He married Margaret Stephenson. Horace was born at Bloomfield, Jackson Co., Ohio, USA, on 30 December 1826. He was the son of Charles C. Rose and Francina Ann Harless. Horace died on 18 March 1887 at age 60. Information from his death certificate shows his age at death as 61y 4m 11d - which would put his birth date at November 7, 1825..

     Catherine died before maturity. Catherine was born in 1830. She was the daughter of Charles C. Rose and Francina Ann Harless.

     She is found in the 1870 census of Jackson Co., Ohio, age 35, farmer. He husbanc is not mentioned. Her children are Minerva 9, Moses 7, William 6, Horace 4 and Mary, an adopted daughter, age 13. Also there is her mother, Francina 68.

In the 1880 census Mary is gone but a Stella V. age 1, is listed as her grandaughter. Comfort was born at Ohio, USA, circa 1835. She was the daughter of Charles C. Rose and Francina Ann Harless. She married Moses Hill on 14 February 1860. As of 14 February 1860,her married name was Hill. Comfort died circa 1868.

     His father Charles 59, was with him at the time of the 1860 census in Jackson County. Ferdinand was a farmer. Ferdinand was born at Ohio, USA, on 28 June 1838. He was the son of Charles C. Rose and Francina Ann Harless. He married Lucy Halterman at Jackson Co., Ohio, USA, on 11 March 1858.

     The 1870 census for Jackson Co., Ohio shows his occupation as laborer. William was born at Ohio, USA, in 1841. He was the son of Charles C. Rose and Francina Ann Harless. He married Martha Thomas at Jackson Co., Ohio, USA, on 12 October 1865.

     She is shown as Francina Green in petition for probate of the estate of her mother, and in the death record of a still born child who died October 15, 1869, Jackson Co., father: David Green, mother: Frances Green. Frances was born at Ohio, USA, on 19 February 1842. She was the daughter of Charles C. Rose and Francina Ann Harless. She married David Green at Jackson Co., Ohio, USA, on 23 February 1858. As of 23 February 1858,her married name was Green.

     She married George Rowland. Her married name was Rowland. Rhoda was born in 1846. She was the daughter of Charles C. Rose and Francina Ann Harless.

     He married Elizabeth unknown.

     She married Garwood G. Trenor. Her married name was Trenor.

     Tabitha Rose and Fleming Ballard Miller Trenor were married by her at Monroe Co., West Virginia, USA, on 19 September 1856.¹

     George was born at Monroe Co., Virginia, USA, on 18 January 1857. He was the son of Fleming Ballard Miller Trenor and Tabitha Rose. He married Mary Josephine Looney on 24 January 1877. George Washington Trenor was census 1860 - free in June 1880 at Craig County, Virginia, USA; He was a farmer. His son Loney Howard appears to be recorded as Lenna H. George died on 27 November 1930 at Troutville, Botetourt Co., Virginia, USA, at age 73.

     Harvey was born at Alleghany Co., Virginia, USA, on 17 April 1859. He was the son of Fleming Ballard Miller Trenor and Tabitha Rose. He married Sophanona Joanne Alice Persinger. He married Susannah Joannah McDaniel on 27 February 1879.

     Martha was born at Virginia, USA, circa 1862.¹ She was the daughter of Fleming Ballard Miller Trenor and Tabitha Rose. Martha C. Trenor appeared on the census of 1880 in the household of Fleming Ballard Miller Trenor at New Castle, Craig Co., Virginia, USA; Residing with Fleming 46, were his wife Tabitha 42, and children Martha C. 18, Awilda M. 15, Joseph B. 12, and Oscar C. 6.¹

     Awilda was born at Craig Co., Virginia, USA, in 1864. She was the daughter of Fleming Ballard Miller Trenor and Tabitha Rose. Awilda M. Trenor appeared on the census of 1880 in the household of Fleming Ballard Miller Trenor at New Castle, Craig Co., Virginia, USA; Residing with Fleming 46, were his wife Tabitha 42, and children Martha C. 18, Awilda M. 15, Joseph B. 12, and Oscar C. 6.¹ She married William J. Hubbard on 14 April 1881. As of 14 April 1881,her married name was Hubbard. Awilda died in 1942 at Alleghany Co., Virginia, USA. Her body was interred at Covington, Alleghany Co., Virginia, USA, at Cedar Hill Cemetary.

     Ballard was born at Alleghany Co., Virginia, USA, circa 1868. He was the son of Fleming Ballard Miller Trenor and Tabitha Rose. He married Ollie Duncan at Paint Bank, Craig Co., Virginia, USA, on 30 December 1891. Ballard died circa 1903.
