     Willem was a member of the Brooklyn Reformed Dutch Church in 1683. He appeared on the September 1683 Brooklyn Tax List with one poll, twelve morgen of land (23.32 acres), seven cows and four horses. On February 8, 1688/89 he sold his brother, Jacob Jorise, twenty morgens (42.2 acres) of land at Bedford. He also sold land to Hendrick Cruse of Staten Island. He was residing in Richmond County in 1689.¹ Willem Jorisz Bouman was born circa 1650 at Germany.¹ He was the son of Joris Jakopsen Bouman and Catherina Claessen. Willem Jorisz Bouman married Hendrickje Jans Markus between 1664 and 1677.

     Joris settled at Brooklyn prior to the May 20, 1652 baptism of his son Jacob Jorise Bowman. He appears on the Assessment Rolls of Brooklyn in 1675 and 1676 with three polls, horses, oxen, cows, hogs and sheep and he is on the Brooklyn Patents of 1667 and 1677. He purchased a lot and house at the Ferry on May 7, 1660 from Cornelius Dirksen Hoogland which the September 26, 1683 tax lists indicates was 16 morgen (2.116 acres). The "Register" indicates he signed his name with a mark.

The 1698 census enumerates his household as being comprised of one man, one woman and four slaves. He was then living next door to his son Hermen Jorise Jorissen Bouman. His children and their order of birth are uncertain - those listed are gleaned from the Brooklyn Reformed Church and Flatbush Church records and from Bergen's "Early Settlers".¹ Joris Jakopsen Bouman was born circa 1626 at Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands; He gave his age as 38 when testifying as to the Capt. John Scott raid on Brooklyn in 1664.¹ He married Catherina Claessen, daughter of Claes Cornelissen and Metje Herperts, before 1650. Joris Jakopsen Bouman died before 8 October 1718 at Brooklyn, King's Co., New York, USA.

     Catherina Claessen was born on 12 June 1633 at Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands.¹ She was the daughter of Claes Cornelissen and Metje Herperts.¹ As of before 1650,her married name was Bouman. Catherina Claessen married Joris Jakopsen Bouman before 1650.

     They owned land in Bedford in 1695.¹ Marretje Joris Bouman was born at Brooklyn, King's Co., New York, USA. He was the son of Joris Jakopsen Bouman and Catherina Claessen. Marretje Joris Bouman married Jakop Jansen Buys on 22 November 1690 at Brooklyn Reformed Church.²

     He is listed on the Assessment Rolls of Brooklyn for 1693 and in the census of 1698, next door to the Staets, by the Ferry. He was appointed ensign for the militia for Richmond County by Gov. Leisler in 1689. He sold land to Thomas Lambertse on April 22, 1695.¹ Cornelis Jorisz Bouman was born at Brooklyn, King's Co., New York, USA. He was the son of Joris Jakopsen Bouman and Catherina Claessen. Cornelis Jorisz Bouman married Anntje Pietersen-Staats on 28 September 1695 at Brooklyn Reformed Church, Brooklyn, King's Co., New York, USA.

     Aagtse Joris Bouman married an unknown person at Flatbush Reformed Church. He was born at Brooklyn, King's Co., New York, USA.¹ He was the son of Joris Jakopsen Bouman and Catherina Claessen.¹

On February 8, 1688/89 he purchsed 20 morgen of land (42.32 acres) from his brother, William Jorisz Bowman.¹ Jacob Jorise Bouman married Lysbeth Thomiszen.² Jacob Jorise Bouman was born before 20 May 1652 at Brooklyn, King's Co., New York, USA.¹ He was christened on 20 May 1652 at New York Reformed Dutch Church.¹ He was the son of Joris Jakopsen Bouman and Catherina Claessen.¹ Jacob Jorise Bouman died after 1691/92.¹

     Her married name was Nevius.¹ Aefe Jorise Bouman married Cornelius Nevius.¹ Aefe Jorise Bouman was christened on 12 June 1661 at Brooklyn, King's Co., New York, USA. She was the daughter of Joris Jakopsen Bouman and Catherina Claessen.

     Harmen Jorise Jorissen Bouman was christened on 21 August 1666 at Brooklyn Reformed Church, Brooklyn, King's Co., New York, USA. He was the son of Joris Jakopsen Bouman and Catherina Claessen. Harmen Jorise Jorissen Bouman married Neeltje Staats on 26 January 1694.¹ In the 1698 King's County census, Herman Jorisse is listed in the town of Brrokland, at the Ferry, with one man, one woman, two children and one apprentice, living next door to father Joris Jacopsen.

His children were all baptized at Staten Island.²

     Harmon Stanley was born on 10 March 1821 at Stokes Co., North Carolina, USA. He was the son of John Stanley and Elizabeth Dicks. Harmon Stanley married Anna Maria Bowman, daughter of Edmond R. Bowman and Sarah S. Stuart, on 2 April 1846 at Hamilton Co., Indiana, USA. Harmon Stanley died on 3 April 1893 at age 72.

     Alonzo George Stanley was born on 16 October 1847 at Henry Co., Indiana, USA. He was the son of Harmon Stanley and Anna Maria Bowman. Alonzo George Stanley married Julia Modlin on 5 February 1867 at Hamilton Co., Indiana, USA.

     Edmond Orlan Stanley was born on 11 April 1852 at Hamilton Co., Indiana, USA. He was the son of Harmon Stanley and Anna Maria Bowman. Edmond Orlan Stanley married Mary Jackson on 16 August 1879 at Hamilton Co., Indiana, USA. Edmond Orlan Stanley died on 7 July 1924 at Indiana, USA, at age 72.
