     An IGI record lists Ann Byrt m. December 30, 1779 in Shepton Mallet to John Sheppard. The dates would seem to fit but it needs to be confirmed. Anne was born on 26 March 1757. She was the daughter of Thomas Byrt and Susanna Watson.

(?) circa 1843; This marriage is assumed based on information from the 1851 census such as location and ages.¹ Francis Taylor Byrt appeared on the census of 1851 at Paul Street, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England.¹ He was a painter/plumber in 1851.¹ In the 1851 census, Francis was a Plumber and Painter and his wife Anna was a dressmaker.

A Shepton Mallet tombstone lists a Francis Byrt died 1872 aged 52. The dates would seem to fit. Francis died in 1872? At Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England.

In the 1881 census Thomas was a bookseller and printer employing 3 men and 1 boy. He resided at Fore Street, Tiverton, Devon, England with his wife Elizabeth, his mother in law Elizabeth Wotton, 75 of Weymouth, a servant Ellen Knight, 19 of Tiverton, Devon, and two unmarried lodgers; Anne Sharland, 80 of South Molton, Devon and Caroline Sharland, 77 of South Molton. Thomas died in 1887.

     Catherine was born on 20 October 1837. She was the daughter of Francis William Byrt and Eleanora Taylor. Catherine Byrt was baptized on 3 June 1838 at Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England; Her father was listed as a Master at national school.¹

     William was born on 14 March 1840. He was the son of Francis William Byrt and Eleanora Taylor.

Julia died on 19 April 1893 at Kimberley, South Africa, at age 36.¹

     George Frederick Bedggood was born on 14 February 1836 at Henley-on-Thames, Oxford, England.¹ He was the son of Charles Bedgegood and Mary Ann Price.¹ He married Julia Annie Byrt at Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England, on 17 April 1877.¹ George died on 31 May 1925 at Plumstead, Cape Town, South Africa, at age 89.¹

     Kate was born at Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England, on 2 January 1861. She was the daughter of Albert Francis Byrt and Eliza Anne Brown. She married John Saltford in 1894. As of 1894,her married name was Saltford. Kate died on 25 April 1930 at age 69.
