     His body was interred at Surrey, England, at Brookwood Military Cemetary. Alan was born at Prudhoe, Northumberland, England, in 1886. He was the son of Joseph Burnett Eldon Francis Laws and Hannah Jane Spraggon. Alan died on 24 April 1917.

     He married Hannah Anderson. Frederick was born in 1888. He was the son of Joseph Burnett Eldon Francis Laws and Hannah Jane Spraggon.

     She married Frederick Laws. Her married name was Laws.

     Eric Laws was the son of Frederick Laws and Hannah Anderson. Eric started the water well drilling business with Stan Byrt in the 60's. Eric died in March 1999 at British Columbia, Canada.

     Evelyn was born in 1890. She was the daughter of Joseph Burnett Eldon Francis Laws and Hannah Jane Spraggon.

     He married Florence Elsie Duffett. Gerald was born in 1892. He was the son of Joseph Burnett Eldon Francis Laws and Hannah Jane Spraggon.

     She married Gerald Laws. Her married name was Laws.

     William Laws was the son of Gerald Laws and Florence Elsie Duffett.

     George died. He married Caroline.W. (Pat) Morgan. George was born in 1896. He was the son of Joseph Burnett Eldon Francis Laws and Hannah Jane Spraggon.

     She married George Laws. Her married name was Laws.

     The 1881 census shows a Frederick Law, unmarried, age 30, born at Gateshead, Durham, as a boarder at the home of Ellen Potts, a 61 year old widow, at 23 Henry St., Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland. Frederick was a butcher. It is likely that this Frederick is the same one. Frederick died. He married Marie Butler. Frederick was born at Tynemouth, Northumberland, England, on 2 April 1851. He was the son of Cuthbert Umfreville Laws and Catharine (Kate) Burnett. He was christened at Tynemouth, Northumberland, England, on 21 November 1851.

     He was a "gentleman". George was born at Ovingham, Northumberland, England, on 27 September 1819. He was the son of William Ryott Laws and Sarah Johnson. He was baptized at Ovingham, Northumberland, England, on 26 January 1820. Religion: (an unknown value). George died on 12 April 1862 at age 42. The Laws Family Register data lists his death March 28, 1869 at Dumphries and buried about 1869 at Ovingham..

     According to Lowell Chester Rose, Ruth was 1/7 Souix Indian. Her body was interred at Monroe Co., West Virginia, USA, at Bostic Cemetary. Ruth was born on 22 July 1818. She was the daughter of Abraham Wolf and Margaret Caldwell. She married Jackson Rose at Alleghany Co., Virginia, USA, on 9 February 1837. As of 9 February 1837,her married name was Rose. Ruth Marie Wolfe witnessed the census 1850 - free of Jackson Rose; He was a farmer. Ruth Marie Wolfe witnessed the census 1860 - free of Jackson Rose; He was a farmer. Ruth Marie Wolfe appeared on the census of 1880 in the household of Alfred Jackson Rose at New Castle, Craig Co., Virginia, USA; He was a farmer with his wife Mary E., age 23, and his mother Ruth M. Rose, age 59, living with him. Ruth died on 27 May 1891 at Paint Bank, Craig Co., Virginia, USA, at age 72.

     Adam was born at Petersmount, West Virginia, USA, circa 1824. He married Rachel Virginia Helvey (Helvie) at Montgomery Co., Virginia, USA, on 26 May 1847. Adam Adams was census 1860 - free in 1860 at Montgomery County, Virginia, USA. The 1850 and 1860 census' show Adam Adams in Montgomery Co., Virginia. In 1870 there is an Adam Adams in Craig Co., Virginia. He appeared on the census of 1880 at New Castle, Craig County, Virginia, USA; In the 1880 Census Adam at 56 was head of the household and living with Rachel V., wife at 56, sons John A 26, George J. 25, Samuel R. 22, Adam R. 18 and daughter Rachel V. 13.¹ Adam died on 20 August 1886.²

     Rachel was born at Petersmount, West Virginia, USA, circa 1826. She was the daughter of George Peter Helvey and Margaret "Peggy" Price. She married Adam Adams at Montgomery Co., Virginia, USA, on 26 May 1847. As of 26 May 1847,her married name was Adams (Helvie). Rachel Virginia Helvey (Helvie) witnessed the census 1860 - free of Adam Adams. Rachel died.

     She married George Adam Rose. Her married name was Rose.

     Ada A. Jones was the daughter of George Jones and Tanya unknown. She married George Adam Rose on 22 January 1896. As of 22 January 1896,her married name was Rose. Ada died in 1915.

     Lessie was born on 19 January 1883. She was the daughter of William Taylor and Ollie Looney. She married Robert Jackson Rose at Paint Bank, Craig Co., Virginia, USA, on 27 November 1901. As of 27 November 1901,her married name was Rose. Lessie died on 10 September 1928 at Paint Bank, Craig Co., Virginia, USA, at age 45.

     He and Ammie lived at Fisk, Saskatchewan.

Letter to "The West Virginia News" newspaper from Ernest W. Wilson.

Thinking probably some of the people of West Virginia might like to hear something of Western Canada, I shall try to give a brief description through the columns of The News fo the beautiful Saskatchewan valley.

This is an almost unbounded plain, through which the Saskatchewan river may be seen for miles winding it's way, lending beauty to the scene. Far away to the northwest may be seen the county where the Red Men, the Antelope and Coyote still roam at large, though these are fast disappearing before the rapid march of civilization. This country is only in it's infancy, as the oldest settler has only been here for five years, while other countries that have been settled for a great while have not made the rapid progress this has done, which goes to show that the people here are very progressive, the railroad has only been completed about eight months.

We have three towns within six miles of us, all doing good business. Money seems plentiful and everybody is investing it. Land that sold a few years ago at $3.00 to $5.00 per acre is now selling at $15.00 to $25.00.

The principal crops here are Wheat, Oats, Barley, Flax and all kinds of Vegetables. We are having fine weather here and have been engaged in killing wild Ducks, Geese and Prairie Dogs and enjoying Prairie life to its fullest extent.

     Walter died. He married Rosia Alice Rose.

     He married Virginia Ostella Rose. Frank was born on 19 May 1886. He was the son of David M. Bratton and Mary Arthur. Frank died on 12 December 1918 at Russell, Greenup Co., Kentucky, USA, at age 32.

     Pearl was born at Fort Spring, Greenbriar Co., West Virginia, USA, on 13 September 1885. She was the daughter of Louden Ramsey and Rachel Hedrick. She married Llowell Chester Rose on 15 March 1911. As of 15 March 1911,her married name was Rose. Pearl died on 24 April 1975 at Fairlea, Greenbriar Co., West Virginia, USA, at age 89.
