Joseph Barclay Jr. Looney appeared on the census of 1880 at New Castle, Craig Co., Virginia, USA; He was 57, his wife Mevlina H. was 55, daughter Sarah M. 37 and single, son Joshua D. 20, daughter Luvenia 17, and son Lorenzo D. 14. Also with him was his son David A. 30 and widowed, and David's 3 sons, Coyd D. 5, Ballard C. 3, and Giles P. 8 months.¹

     Mary was born on 6 June 1817. She was the daughter of Joseph Barclay Sr. Looney and Nancy Hendrixson or Hendrickson. She married John F. Wood at Botetourt Co., Virginia, USA, on 15 January 1835. As of 15 January 1835,her married name was Wood.

     He married Mary Looney at Botetourt Co., Virginia, USA, on 15 January 1835.

     David was born on 26 October 1819. He was the son of Joseph Barclay Sr. Looney and Nancy Hendrixson or Hendrickson. He married Mary Jane Leffel on 27 March 1845. David died on 20 February 1864 at Gettysburg, Adams Co., Pennsylvania, USA, at age 44.

     She married David Andrew Looney on 27 March 1845. As of 27 March 1845,her married name was Looney.

     Aaron was born on 12 July 1824. He was the son of Joseph Barclay Sr. Looney and Nancy Hendrixson or Hendrickson.
