     Grace died. Grace was born at Ogle Well House, Whalton, Northumberland, England, in 1780. She was the daughter of Mark Spraggon and Grace Charlton. She was christened on 25 December 1780.

Jean Sabourin was the first ancestor in Quebec. He was born in Matalembert, Diocese of Poiters, formerly a province of Poitou, in France. This community today is part of the Department of Deux-Sevres. He immigrated to Canada around 1670. with his wife and young son Pierre. The family settled at Charlesbourg and then went to Montreal. The 1681 census shows the family in Montreal owning two cows and 10 arpents of land. Jean was 40, his wife 38, children were Pierre 15, Francoise 11, Marie 8, Jean 7, Jeanne 5, Guillaume 3. Jean was widowed in 1681 and married Marie Gaillard of Beauport on September 22, 1682. There were no known children of this marriage.

Although there were three seperate Sabourin's who settled in New France before 1730, this Jean Sabourin is the forebear of most of the Sabourin's in North America.

In October 1670, Jean acquired his first estate, in the village of St. Claude, north of Charlesbourg. In 1680 he moved to Sault St. Louis, near Montreal. He sired two sons, Pierre and Jean, this ensuring the continuation of the name. Most of the Sabourin clan who populated the Outasouais region are direct descendants of Pierre who settled at Pointe Claire, Quebec. Jean, on the other hand, settled at Pointe aux Trembles and his descendants opted to the regions south-east of Montreal and adopted the Sabourin dit Choiniere name. The Outaouais Sabourin are therefore mostly descended from Pierre Sabourin and Madeleine Perrier who were married in Montreal May 24, 1688. Three sons were born from this couple; Pierre, Jean Baptiste and Jacques. Jean Baptiste was a Captain in the militia and highly respected in the conty of Vaudreuil. Numerous descendants braved the elements, travelling the rivers and lakes to settle at Lochiel in Glengarry County. Jean was born at Montalembert, Poiters, Vienne, France, in 1641. He was the son of Jean Sabourin and Etienette Joineaux (Pinaud). He married Mathurine Regnault at LaRochelle, France, on 29 April 1665. Their marriage site was also listed as La Rochelle, Aunis, Charente-Maritim, France.. He married Marie Gaillard dit Daire at Beauport, Quebec Co., Quebec, Canada, on 22 September 1682. Jean died on 28 September 1721 at Pointe-Claire, Ile-de-Monteal Co., Quebec, Canada.

      Mathurine Regnault was also known as Mathurine Renaud. Mathurine was born at Bourg De Rie, France, in 1643. She was the daughter of Sylvestre Renou and Judict Laubertre. She married Jean Sabourin at LaRochelle, France, on 29 April 1665. Their marriage site was also listed as La Rochelle, Aunis, Charente-Maritim, France.. As of 29 April 1665,her married name was Sabourin. Mathurine died on 14 April 1681 at Montreal, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada.

     Jean was born at France circa 1611. He married Etienette Joineaux (Pinaud) at France circa 1630. Jean died circa 1666 at France.

     Etienette died. Etienette was born at France circa 1611. She married Jean Sabourin at France circa 1630. As of circa 1630,her married name was Sabourin (Pinaud).

     Guillaume died. Guillaume was born at Montreal, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, in 1678. He was the son of Jean Sabourin and Mathurine Regnault.

     Marie died. Marie was born at Montreal, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, in 1668. She was the daughter of Jean Sabourin and Mathurine Regnault.

     Catherine was born at Quebec, Canada, on 3 July 1670. She was the daughter of Jean Sabourin and Mathurine Regnault. She married Claude Delamothe at Lachine, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, on 12 November 1685. As of 12 November 1685,her married name was Delamothe. She married Pierre Serat at Lachine, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, on 17 November 1687. As of 17 November 1687,her married name was Serat. She married Pierre La Farge on 12 November 1715. As of 12 November 1715,her married name was La Farge. Catherine died on 27 November 1716 at Montreal, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, at age 46.

     She was also noted as marrying a Francois Foucault in Montreal in 1718, however, she was supposed to have died in 1706. Marie was born at Montreal, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, on 1 September 1672. She was the daughter of Jean Sabourin and Mathurine Regnault. She married Jean Picard at Montreal, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, on 3 August 1688. As of 3 August 1688,her married name was Picard. Marie died on 26 February 1706 at Montreal, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, at age 33.

     Jeanne was born at Charlesbourg, Quebec Co., Quebec, Canada, on 2 July 1676. She was the daughter of Jean Sabourin and Mathurine Regnault. She married Nicolas Perillard dit Bourguignon at Montreal, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, on 10 January 1695. As of 10 January 1695,her married name was Perillard. Jeanne died on 19 May 1750 at Montreal, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, at age 73.

     Pierre was employed as a domestic worker at the house of Marguerite Bourgeois, who was the founder of the congregation of the sisters of Notre Dame de Montreal. Marguerite Bourgeois was Cannonized by the Pope in the 80's and declared a Saint of the Roman Catholic Church. She was the only Saint of record in Canada, possibly also North America.¹ Pierre was born at Larochelle, Aunis, France, in 1666. He was the son of Jean Sabourin and Mathurine Regnault. He married Madeleine Perrier at Montreal, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, on 24 May 1688. Pierre died before 1710 at Pointe-Claire, Ile-de-Monteal Co., Quebec, Canada.

     Catherine was born at Pointe-aux-Trembles, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, on 17 January 1678. She was the daughter of Guillaume Chartier and Marie Faulcon. She married Jean Sabourin at Pointe-aux-Trembles, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, on 10 June 1698. As of 10 June 1698,her married name was Sabourin. Catherine died on 22 December 1700 at Pointe-aux-Trembles, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, at age 22.

     Jacques was born at Montreal, Ile-de-Montreal Co., Quebec, Canada, in 1645. He was the son of Jean dit Voyne and Marie Francoise Manseau. He married Marie Marguerite LePrevost at Quebec, Canada, in 1670. Jacques died on 29 November 1700 at Ile-Sainte-Therese, Vercheres Co., Quebec, Canada.

     Marie died. Marie was born at Quebec, Canada, in 1649. She married Jacques Voine-Sansoucy at Quebec, Canada, in 1670. As of 1670,her married name was Voine-Sansoucy. She married Etienne Forestier at Varennes, Vercheres Co., Quebec, Canada, on 20 November 1701. As of 20 November 1701,her married name was Forestier.

     Jean was born at France in 1621. He married Marie Francoise Manseau at France before 1644. Jean died on 2 February 1687 at Quebec, Canada.

     Marie was born at France circa 1625. She married Jean dit Voyne at France before 1644. As of before 1644,her married name was Voyne. Marie died before 1681 at France.

     Alexis was born at L'Ange-Gardien, Montmorency Co., Quebec, Canada, on 8 April 1680. He was the son of Charles Gaudin and Marie Boucher. He married Madeleine Jacob at L'Ange-Gardien, Montmorency Co., Quebec, Canada, on 1 December 1706. Alexis died on 31 March 1764 at Ecureuils, Quebec, Canada, at age 83.

     Madeleine was born at L'Ange-Gardien, Montmorency Co., Quebec, Canada, on 25 April 1685. She was the daughter of Etienne Jacob and Jeanne Fressel. She married Alexis Gaudin at L'Ange-Gardien, Montmorency Co., Quebec, Canada, on 1 December 1706. As of 1 December 1706,her married name was Gaudin. Madeleine died on 13 May 1758 at Ecureuils, Quebec, Canada, at age 73.

     Charles was born at St. Laurent, Beaumes, Dauphine, France, in 1631. He was the son of Jacques Gaudin and Marguerite dit Niard Nieule-Niard. He married Marie Boucher at Beaupre, Montmorency Co., Quebec, Canada, on 6 November 1656. Charles died on 1 December 1706 at L'Ange-Gardien, Montmorency Co., Quebec, Canada.

     Marie was born at Beaupre, Montmorency Co., Quebec, Canada, on 11 April 1644. She was the daughter of Marin Boucher and Perinne Mallet. She married Charles Gaudin at Beaupre, Montmorency Co., Quebec, Canada, on 6 November 1656. As of 6 November 1656,her married name was Gaudin. Marie died on 18 January 1712 at L'Ange-Gardien, Montmorency Co., Quebec, Canada, at age 67.

     Jacques died at RivierStJean, Acadia, Canada. Jacques was born at Savolles, Dijon, Bourgogne, France, in 1606. He was the son of Claude Gaudin and Marie Bardin. He married Marguerite dit Niard Nieule-Niard at Debeaumes, St. Gervais, Normandy, France, in 1624.

     Marguerite died at St-Laurent, St-Gervais, Normandy, France. Marguerite was born at St-Laurent, Beaumes, Vaucluse, France, in 1610. She married Jacques Gaudin at Debeaumes, St. Gervais, Normandy, France, in 1624. As of 1624,her married name was Gaudin.

     Marin was born at Montagne, Chartres, Perch, France, circa 1588. He was the son of Gaspard Boucher and Nicole Lemaire. He married Perinne Mallet at Mortagne, Sees, Perche, France, on 29 March 1629. Marin died on 25 March 1671 at Chateau-Richer, Montmorency, Quebec, Canada.

     Perinne was born at Mortagne, Sees, Perche, France, circa 1605. She was the daughter of Pierre Mallet and Jacqueline (Jacquette) Liger. She married Marin Boucher at Mortagne, Sees, Perche, France, on 29 March 1629. As of 29 March 1629,her married name was Boucher. Perinne died on 24 August 1687 at Chateau-Richer, Montmorency, Quebec, Canada.

     Etienne was born at L'Auxerrois, Paris, Sienne, France, in 1649. He was the son of Etienne Jacob and Jeanne Bellejambe. He married Jeanne Fressel at Quebec, Canada, on 14 October 1670. Etienne died in 1726 at Quebec, Canada.

     Jeanne was born at Des-Champs, Paris, France, in 1653. She was the daughter of Andre Fressel and Marie Avies. She married Etienne Jacob at Quebec, Canada, on 14 October 1670. As of 14 October 1670,her married name was Jacob. Jeanne died on 1 March 1717 at L'Ange-Gardien, Montmorency Co., Quebec, Canada.

     Etienne was born at St Germain, Paris, Ile De France, France, in 1620. He married Jeanne Bellejambe at L'Auxerrois, Paris, Sienne, France, in 1640. Etienne died before 1647.
