was a challenging season with the late ice melt and the closure of
the reservoir for
a couple of weeks. Let's hope for a May 1, 2012 opening, no
excessive flooding and a great 2012.
We are gearing up for the
2012 World
Outrigger Sprint Championships.
held right here on the Glenmore reservoir in August. We hope you'll
all come out to join
us as a volunteer or spectator to catch the action.
Please note the Club will be closed for all members and programs
August 11-15, 2012.

to Edgar Garza, new head coach of the sprint program.
The smooth transition is underway as Eric Tobiasz and Edgar continue
to train the athletes through the winter and prepare for the 2012
season beginning with the annual training camp in Florida.

A big thank you goes out to
Alberta Sport for the Development Initiatives program. The
Club received a grant for inflatable PFD's.
The Calgary Canoe
Club provides training and promotes excellence in all canoe and
kayak disciplines (such as sprint racing, outrigger and marathon),
and provides the opportunity to all members of the community to
experience lifelong learning skills through paddling.
The Calgary Canoe Club was established in 1959, and from the
beginning the club has strived to promote safe and enjoyable
paddling experiences through recreational and educational programs.
