INTRODUCTION TO LAKE
CANOEING 2012
Our intro to Lake Canoeing courses are
both designed to introduce the basic lake skills to newcomers.
Lessons will include an orientation to the equipment, basic paddling
skills: strokes, getting in and out of your boat safely, steering
and basic on water safety. **Please note this sport is weather
permitting**.
Session 1: May 15 & 17,
6:00-7:30pm. 2- 90 minute sessions held on Glenmore reservoir

21 6:00-7:30pm & June 23 1:00-2:30. 3- 90 minute sessions held
on Glenmore reservoir.

INTRODUCTION
TO WHITEWATER
KAYAKING 2012
Join us
for a 2 sessions on the Glenmore Reservoir, 1 pool session and 1
out trip to the Bowness Eddies. Reservoir sessions will include an
orientation to the equipment, basic paddling skills: strokes,
getting in and out of your boat safely, basic on water safety. At
the pool session we will cover wet exits and introduce the roll.
All paddling equipment provided.
All
transportation and equipment information for the pool session and
out trip will be covered in the first session. The Canoe Club
does not provide Wetsuits. A wetsuit is optional for the river
session but a good idea.

INTRODUCTION TO BASIC
KAYAKING 2012
Join us for an introduction to the
whitewater kayaks. Lessons will include an orientation to the
equipment, basic paddling skills: strokes, getting in and out of
your boat safely, and basic on water safety. All classes are
scheduled for the Glenmore reservoir. We do not have any pool
sessions or river trips scheduled with this intro course.

permitting**.

INTRODUCTION TO OUTRIGGER
2012
Mandatory for all new paddlers wanting
to join the outrigger program at the Club, this course offers an
introduction to outrigger paddling basics. Outrigger paddling is a
competitive based program. Novices are welcome to join and try it
out as a new sport. Paddle for fun, fitness or competition.
Drop-in sessions are every Wednesday
6:30pm – 8:30 pm ish.
If you are interested in coming to a
drop-in session, please call the Calgary Canoe Club to confirm that
you are coming for a session. **Please note this sport is weather
permitting**.

Membership is not required for participation.

INTRODUCTION TO MASTERS
SPRINT 2012
This course
offers an introduction or refresher in Flatwater Sprint Kayak or
Canoe paddling basics. This course will offer 4 sessions into Sprint
Kayak/Canoeing.
This sport is not like anything you have ever tried. Please watch

Caution:
This is a sport where you will get WET. Sprint Kayak/Canoe paddling
