How to Apply

Membership is open to the public and provides:
- Free on-reservoir use of the Calgary Canoe Club's recreational
canoes and kayaks. Due to liability restrictions we do not allow
for off-site rentals.
- Use of PFD's and paddles for canoe and kayaks.
- Access to Marathon, Outrigger,
Racing competitive programs.
We have 25 one person recreation kayaks and 25 two man recreation
canoes. Boats are available on a first come first serve basis.
It is typically busy on weekend afternoons with very nice weather
so call ahead to check on availability or be prepared to wait
for a boat if we are all out. We cannot predict how long canoe
rentals and members will be on the reservoir, Thanks for your
No prerequisites are required for membership. We strongly suggest
you take a lesson on canoeing and kayaking before going on the

on length and number of people. Average cost $40/person/lesson.

Members are encouraged to bring guests to the club and introduce
them to paddling. Guests are allowed to join members in a canoe
at any time. However, if you would like to introduce kayaking
please ensure you go over the basics with them. If a staff member
is available we would be happy to give them a brief dry land orientation.
Your guest will not be charged if he is sharing a canoe with
you. Guest fees are charged for additional boats (canoes and kayaks).
Guest fees: Full day, $20. Half day, $10. This includes
a maximum of 2 guests.
Please note: Canoes may be rented only when the guest is accompanied
by a member.
Youth Learn to Paddle
Full refunds for L2P registrations (less a 5% fee) will be
accepted up to one month prior to the start date. A 50% cancellation
fee will be charged within 2 weeks of cancelling your registration.
Outstanding circumstances may be discussed with management.
Membership and Competitive Program Fees:
Refunds will be addressed on a case-by-case basis and are subject
to a 5% administration fee in addition to time lapse of use.

The Calgary Canoe Club will not trade, rent or sell your personal
information without your prior consent.
