Prerequisites required?

No prerequisites are required for membership. We strongly suggest you take a lesson on canoeing and kayaking before going on the water.

Boat bay staff will offer a dryland orientation for all new members to the equipment during business hours. Schedule a private lesson by either calling or emailing our office during business hours Monday- Friday. Cost will depend on length and number of people. Average cost $40/person/lesson. Cost per person may decrease if there are more than 2 people. Please call to confirm costs.

Guest policies

Members are encouraged to bring guests to the club and introduce them to paddling. Guests are allowed to join members in a canoe at any time. However, if you would like to introduce kayaking please ensure you go over the basics with them. If a staff member is available we would be happy to give them a brief dry land orientation.

Your guest will not be charged if he is sharing a canoe with you. Guest fees are charged for additional boats (canoes and kayaks).
