Pere Lachaise Cemetery, Paris. A black cat we met at the gravesite later followed us. A young American man off-handedly commented how interesting (and appropriate?) it was to have a black cat milling about Jim Morrisons grave. After leaving, with the cat, I felt a need to place our All Dark Places CD on his grave. Kevin, cat and I turned around and went back to Morrison, where I ceremoniously tossed our CD over the railing and onto the grave, on top and alongside of lit candles, poems, letters, flowers and other gifts left by those who still remember this amazing man over thirty years after his passing. I love everything about the Jim Morrison I have spent countless hours reading about - his life, his foibles, his passion, his intensity, his insanity, his kindness and his creativity... to name just a few things I connect to with him.
