CHILLI-DOGS DOG TRAINING FACILITY
I formed this club in October 2000 by purchasing a club membership with AAC (Agility Association of Canada). I, Jacqui, have been involved in agility since March 1994, going from an occasional trial with maybe 30 - 40 competitors to two trials per month all year long with 150 - 210 competitors. When I first starting running Pebbles, my first dog, there was rarely a trial with the Masters class as there were only a few Masters dogs, now the class is over-whelming. Pebbles, Cassie and Merle are now gone, Sparky is now retired due to age but I am still running three of my Border Collies, Sarge, Cinder and Oakley. Sarge has achieving his Gold Merit Award, Cinder is moving up the ranks at her own speed and having fun and Oakley is following her father's, Sarge, foot steps, actually surpassing him, achieving her ADC (Starters title) in 4 months, her AADC (Advanced title) three and a half months after that and her MADC (Masters title) two months after that and her ATChC (Agility Trial Championship of Canada) and Bronze Award of Merit on the same run, one year later. I also have gotten into herding with the dogs, Sarge, Spry, Cinder and Oakley. Sarge has several titles, Spry has several, Oakley and Cinder are moving up in the ranks as well.
In 2000, I found that the agility trials were becoming fewer and farther between in the lower mainland, so, because of my love for the sport, the camaraderie of the people and the love for their dogs, I wanted to see more trials locally. I formed Chilli-Dogs Agility, living in Chilliwack and it being a dog sport, to hold AAC sanctioned trials. I belonged to the Matsqui Flyball & Agility Club for seven years and organized their trials for three of those years. I enjoyed doing it, even all the paper work involved. My husband, son and friends are very supportive and their help makes the work all that much easier. I thank and appreciate them immensely. We held our first trial in May 2001 in Yarrow, BC and have continued on ever since. As I am not getting any younger and my son is now moving out of the house and province, I have decided as of 2008 I will be holding a limited one ring agility trial on my property. As the trials on my property did not turn out so well, I am now going back to holding a two ring unlimited trial in May at the Yarrow Sports Field again.
I am also organizing AHBA (American Herding Breed Association) and BCSDA (British Columbia Stockdog Association) ranch and arena herding trials on my property.
I hope to see you all out and enjoying yourselves.

Jacqui Barrie: I have been competing in agility since March 1994, starting out with Pebbles. In November 1995 I obtained a new dog, Cassie, and started training and competing with her right away. Now I have a whole mess of dogs. I am a Masters level AAC judge and an AHBA herding judge. I also started herding with my border collies in 2003. I offer agility and herding training on my property as I have both a full set of agility equipment and a good sized flock of sheep. |
| Adrian Barrie: I started competing in Junior Handlers in March 1998 running Cassie, my mom's dog. I achieved my first qualifier in March 1998 and finished all levels in October 1999. I work and help out at the Chilli-Dogs Agility trials. |

| David Barrie: I began learning about agility in March 1994 and very soon after Jacqui starting competing and obtaining more and more dogs, I became an "Agility Husband". I don't compete in agility but help out at the Chilli-Dogs Agility trials. I do compete with Fyre in herding on sheep and ducks, her favorite is the ducks. I rescued an eight year old border collie named D.J. and he enjoyed playing on the sheep at home until we lost him suddenly to health issues. Fyre has achieved several herding titles and she enjoys bringing our flock in every night. |
