NEWS On July 2009 Linda Finstad came to our farm, she is showcasing over 40
breeds of horses in Alberta, for Equine Heritage Exhibit for the Provincial Museum.
Linda is orginally from England and her mom still lives in England. Linda's mom raised and
shown Welsh ponies down there. Linda said I had some real nice Welsh ponies and Linda fell
in love with my grey stallion, she said he is gorgeous.(Young's Proud Memories).
We are proud to say that our Welsh
ponies are representing their breed. Go to Linda's Web site to see photos or to

Here are some old pictures of me
& my brother when we were kids, we all learn how to ride on a Welsh Cob mare.

My first Welsh pony
was a Welsh cob named Queenie. I learned to ride her at the age of four years old and my
mom said that I would put a pail of grain down on the ground, then when
Queenie would put her head down to eat the grain ,I would climb on her neck
and when she raise her head I would slide on her back. I rode bare back for years until I
got my first horse name trigger at the age 12. Queenie was a great kids pony,
five kids would ride her at once and we would play "London Bridge" going under
her stomach. Everyone in the family learned to ride on her and even the neighbor kids; no
one was ever hurt on her. We would also slide off her rear end, go between her hind legs
and front legs. Queenie had a heart of gold and was a very good babysitter for all of us
kids.
