That Which Is Newsworthy

A dozen children are dismembered by an errant fireball
An unfortunate lapse of intelligence
Unlikely to be repeated.
Try to see the bigger picture.
Say! Aren’t you late for work?

Savage sociopath soldiers rape and burn a helpless victim of war.
There may have been some military misconduct.
It’s currently under investigation,
The best people are on it.
Let justice take its course.

Suicide bombers on an express train to heaven
Blow human teeth into charred subway walls.
Their families, now blessed with true heroes
Cheer them back to the arms of Allah.
Perfect sense.

But wait! Here’s something new on the wire…
The president used an expletive at the G8 summit today.
A foul oath from the leader of the free world!!!
And a Christian yet…
God help us.
