The Poetry of Daniel Harrison

Raw Ambition

Don’t blame Mister Rogers
If the lazy little prick
Sticks you for the room and board
‘Till twenty-thirty-six

You’re the one who told him
Mediocre makes the grade
You’re the one that taught him
Even slackers have it made

With every child special
And no laggards left behind
We now import a working class
To do our daily grind

Until they sweeten entry level
Junior parks at home
His girlfriend might move in too
At least he’s not alone
