Basic Float Pump Setup
Description The pump is located approximately 8 feet from shore and anchored to the shore or dugout bottom with a 5/16” rope. The solar panels are located up to 45 feet away from the pump. A float switch in the trough turns the pump on and off as required to keep the trough full. Batteries may or may not be used in this system. If they are used they should be located as close to the solar panels as possible. A battery system with two 64-watt panels will deliver 3500 to 4000 gallons (15890 to 18190 liters) of water on an average summer day. Ideally suited to water 500 – 400 cow/calf pairs from a dugout, surface water or a well crib. Common System Options
