This is the front and the back of the body “blank” after I laminated it all together. The front is maple, the back is mahogany. Both front and back are bookmatched pieces, so there are a total of four pieces laminated together here, two front, two back.

Ah the best laid plans… I routed out the back pickup cavity in the wrong place. This picture shows the mahogany plug I used to fill the hole.
I decided to make it a hollow-body, so I routered a cavity (into the mahogany) then laminated another bookmatched mahogany set onto the back. You can see the two mahogany layers and the maple layer in the picture.
