Location and
Facilities
- Southview Child Care (SCC)
is located in First Mennonite Church, which
moved to its new building on 91 Street in
1997.
- The day-care space
is located on the lower level of the
church building, with its own
ground-level entry on the building's
sunny, southwest side.

- Many windows make interior
space bright. The facility is well designed for
day care and ECS functions, and is completely
handicap accessible.
- Essential facilities located
within the day-care space include kitchen, staff
room, and Director's office.
- The church is located on
several acres of land that includes a grassy
field and a grove of trees.
- Day care and ECS programs
use additional church facilities, including a
gymnasium, during extremely cold or rainy
weather.
- Just outside the day-care
entrance is the playground. It is fenced, with
climbing apparatus and slide, a sand floor, and
more space than required by the City of Edmonton
for day cares.
- Playground equipment was
purchased from and constructed by Sunshine
Playgrounds. Funds for the playground project
were graciously provided by the Clifford E. Lee
Foundation and by the Edmonton Community
Foundation.
