The Gym is a church unto itself...and hosts around 200 people. It has equipment that would be the envy of a lot of small churches.
The stage has 8 pots that house the connections for the mics and monitors, just like upstairs.

So each pot is laid out as above. The Speak-On connectors on the Right are for the monitors. The top is always (1) The bottom is(2). These are controlled by the Aux 1 & 2 on the Mixer board.
The stage monitors are EV FM 1202s. They are 8 ohm's each.
Monitor (1) is pre-fader on the board, and Monitor (2) is post fader.
Do not put more than 3 speakers on one line. The resistance is increased with each addition, so two would be 4 ohms, and three would be 2 ohms. Each speaker then adds to the heat that is generated
The Mixer board is located in the cage at the back, for security.
To turn it all on just flip the switch on the Fuhrman power bar at the top. The Amps, DVD Player, CD player/tape deck etc. is all turned on.
The Screen control is located on the wall behind you.
You cannot control the house lights form the control room as yet. They are controlled form the dimmers on the wall.
There are dimmer controls for the stage lights on the left and vary depending on where they are plugged in.
There is a computer that runs PowerPoint just like upstairs., and has a cut off switch just like upstairs for blacking out the screen in the event of a mistake.
The projector is turned on with the remote, and you only have to point it at the little white Aux IR port located in front of you. It blinks when activated.
DO NOT TURN THIS ON AND OFF this action can damage the projector, In fact if you accidentally turn it off, after it has been on a while, it could take up to 20 min. before it allows itself to be turned on again. ( to protect the bulb). This bulb is also very expensive, and costs about $800.00. However this projector does not require you to double push the off button, so accidents could potentially happen.
There is a TV located on the right, that can pick up the sermon from upstairs on channel 11.
The top button is called a pad which when depressed cuts the signal by 50%. So if the signal going in is too hot...eg the CD player, or the VHS player, you need to use this pad, so that you can have some room to move the fader control.
There is a Tape button, this is UP for normal Mic use, and Down for Line level inputs.
The EQ's are adjusted using the top one first, then the bottom one. Start with them all at the centre position, and vary them to see what effect they have on the sound.
There is a PFL (pre fader listen button, that acts like the solo button on the Mackie board. When you have earphones plugged in, it gives you only the sound of that particular channel.....and in this case it doesn't matter what position the fader is in becase it is Pre-fader, whereas the Mackie is a post fader button......CONFUSED YET!!!!!
SOOOOO you set up the singers and the monitors first....then the instruments, then finally the house mix. Just remember that for Monitor (2) moving the fader affects it's sound, whereas Monitor (1) moving the fader doesn't affect it.
Turn up the Gain control until it feeds back, then back off. Watch the little red clipping lights to make sure it is not clipping.
Set the faders in the grey area at unity.
Of course pay attention to the VU meters to make sure you are not overriding everything.
The Aux dials are color coded green and blue, and correspond to Monitor (1) and (2). As mentioned (1) is pre-fader, (2) is post-fader. Their MASTER control is on the far RIGHT.
There are subgroups on this board, just like the Mackie. So to simplify everything you can subgroup everything at once......and just use the faders on the right......or you can use them properly, and subgroup 1/2 or 3/4.......OR if you want to use just subgroup 1 you PAN all the way to the left with the PAN control. And ALL the way to the RIGHT for subgroup 2 etc. Generally though the group is used as 1/2 or 3/4, and both faders on the right control the action.
I like to set up the singers on a subgroup, the instruments on another.
Note the position of the wireless mike (17) and the CD and VHS faders. The CD & VHS are used in pairs, for stereo, and can be panned left and right.
Note to change the input to DVD, you need to switch the button on the switcher above the DVD player, to DVD..
So to play a VHS...the VHS button has to be selected. The VHS is qued up with the jog shuttle on the player.
The projector remote is pushed to Video or you can use the menu to select it.
Set the screen height to match the screen height of the video or the powerpoint.
PowerPoint user name is POWERPOINTPERSON,
THE PASSWORD YOU GET FROM GARY.
Is basically the same as upstairs, in that you patch the connector from A1 to Channel 1 on the board etc. Usually going from left to right for ease of remembering.
The Amps are QSC 400 watt amps, 200 watts per side. ( QSC 460's)
The Mics and cables are located in the locked area behind the stage.
The mics are Samson s 1's.
There is a baby Korg and drums etc back there. The drums are not miked, but are on a platform.
There is a couple of spotlights as well.
