Biography

While studying for his Bachelor of Science degree, Lyndon was approached to take over one of the photographer positions at the small Brandon University newspaper. His photos made the front page often, and the assignments allowed him to interact with professional photographers of the local city newspaper, and acquire a vital knowledge of the business.

After graduation, Lyndon moved to Kingston, Ontario, where he obtained his Master of Science degree in Environmental Science. Although he published his research in conference and journal publications, and won awards for his achievements, he spent little time in photography, deciding instead to focus on his environmental career.

However, while working in Winnipeg he became disillusioned with the idea that animals must be sacrificed to conduct environmental research. On the advice of a friend, he approached the Winnipeg Free Press for work as a photographer. Brought on as a freelancer, he submitted pictures on a regular basis on news events and traveled throughout Manitoba covering the 2004 federal election. He also further developed his artistic photography, where he also had much success.

Now living in Edmonton, Alberta, Lyndon is still perusing the continued development of his artistic photos, which has been made stronger by Alberta’s varied landscape and people. He has also worked closely with the City of Edmonton providing promotional photos for their many facilities, as well as covering visits by several international delegations that come to the city on business. His latest work for the City has been on a web site for the Edmonton Waste Management Centre of Excellence, a institution devoted to environmental research, education and training .

Lyndon also works on projects as diverse as a Pow-wow on Manitoulin Island, reenactments of pioneer life on the prairies, Parliament Hill and surrounding architecture, caves in Northern Ontario, a classroom at the University of Saskatchewan, and a reenactment of the 1919 protest in Winnipeg. All show the rich history and culture of Canada.

Lyndon lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with his wife Donna, whose paintings are inspired by the Native American Woodlands style.
