Personal Safety Online
We encourage parents to review the following safety precautions with their children:
1.Never give out personal information, such as your real name, age, location, phone number or school.
2.Never share your password with anyone except your parents. Someone else might use your password and pretend to be you, give out your personal information or do something that may get you into trouble.
3.Tell your parents if someone says or does something on the Internet that makes you uncomfortable, or if someone asks you for personal information.
4.Choose a username that does not reflect your real identity. Avoid names that are in any way suggestive, even if they seem innocent to you.
5.Avoid chat rooms that are not monitored by moderators.

Website Safety Guidelines
Internet safety is a concern when hosting websites that are visited by or contain material contributed by children. The following guidelines have been established to ensure that this website is a safe place for the kids of Tanren Juku:
1.Direct posting or uploading of content will not be allowed. All content will be submitted via email and will be reviewed (and edited if necessary) by an adult prior to it being posted to the website.
2.The website will NOT have a chat room.
3.Only first names will be used.
4.Group pictures of the children may be posted however pictures of individual children will be “posterized”. Permission of a parent will be obtained in cases where actual photographs or movies of a child are used.
5.Personal information will never be posted on the website.
