Roger and Alvena
(Meyer) Donnelly
by Dorothy Leachman (nee
Donnelly)
Roger Donnelly was born in Holton,
Kansas, on March 9, 1898 son of Roger and Margaret
Donnelly. His family moved to Alberta in 1906. They lived in the Edmonton
area for approximately one year before moving to the Clyde District. Roger met
Alvena Meyer in 1922 and they married on December 17, 1924.
Alvena Meyer was born on September 26, 1904. She was

very hard to break the remainder of the quarter over the next months and years.
In the years that followed they purchased the Humm quarter for pasture and an
additional quarter for hay land. They lived happily and raised their family on
this farm for the rest of their lives. Alvena passed away August 14, 1956.
