GP32 BLU (Backlit Unit) vs. GBA SP

By Enslaved

If you are going to buy a handheld but aren’t sure which one to get, this article is for you! First of all you should know that the GP32 is a Korean handheld system capable of emulating pretty much any system 16-bit and under and is fully open source. We all know what a GBA SP is so I don’t need to introduce it. This graph compares some of the physical statistics and value of the two systems.

So let’s say you wanted a GBA SP with Super Mario Advance 2, Advance Wars, Metroid Prime, Doom 2, a SpongeBob Squarepants Volume and an MP3 player. You would be paying about 410 dollars, wait no I forgot to add Tax; it would be around 450 dollars with the average Tax in Canada being about 10%. Hmm... If you have bought a GP32 then you could have had the equivalent of all those things and more for like 80 dollars less. The GP32 will get you as many movies you want on a bigger screen, more music formats than a regular MP3 player, a library of thousands of NES, SNES, Genesis, Turbo-Grafix 16, Gameboy/Color, Sega Master System, Gamegear, Commodore 64, Atari ST, and Spectrum games, free ports of Beats of Rage, Doom, King Of Fighters 91’, Wolfenstein 3D, Rise of the Triad, Lucas arts and Sierra adventure games and more. Also the GP32 gets bonus points because it has a port of the Linux operating system and its edges are rounder. I have pretty much made my point and before you go to buy a GBA SP you should go on over to www.gbax.com and order a GP32 instead, trust me you won’t regret it. Oh and you will also like to buy your Smart media card from a cheaper place then GBAX like TigerDirect.
