Pirotic's  Interview by Enslaved

Enslaved: Introduce yourself.

Pirotic: Hiya!

Pirotic: I'm 21 year old programmer and currently living in the UK.

Enslaved: When did you hear about the GP32 and what made you decide to buy it?

Pirotic: I'd been coding PC software for a while but really wanted to move onto consoles and handhelds. When I read about the GP32 and realized it blew the GBA out of the water in terms of specs I picked one hoping to code for it as a hobby.

Pirotic: It’s around the same spec as the first PC I owned when I first learnt C, so I put on the rose tinted glasses and got to work.

Enslaved: Gigas looks to be coming along great, what is planned for the next release (0.7.5)?

Pirotic: Thanks, I have a pretty big list of improvements on existing features I need to do at some stage. But for 0.7.5 I’m going to get Save Games, Items, Equipping and Shops implemented.

Enslaved: What is the turn based combat going to be like?

Pirotic: Final Fantasy X. [note: I talked to him in the past and he said that the view will be like in the 2D Final Fantasy games but in a giant dynamically zooming background.]

Enslaved: Your site still has screenshots of Lemmings and a beta, will it ever be finished?

Pirotic: Depends how much free time I get, people seem happy to play Lemmings on the various emulators so I’m not in a rush. I was interested in the way they could walk up and down slopes which is what I replicated – I’m planning on using it in another project (if it ever gets off the ground).

Enslaved: You also mention a CPS emulator on your site, was that cancelled?

Pirotic: I had made some progress on CPS32, But then forum tards caught whiff and tried to blackmail me into either releasing what I had so far, or I'd be branded a liar. Seeing as I code as a hobby I refused to be given an ultimatum so I've moved it over to another platform where I’m not discussing it until it’s released.

Enslaved: After Gigas, what other projects do you plan working on?

Pirotic: I have a little RPG designed, which I'd like to make (using Gigas) once it’s completed, after that I have a couple of ideas floating around. One is a program similar to Gigas designed to make RTS games. and the other is a secret. But I’m always changing my mind so don't hold me to that! I tend to just look at what else is available and then fill in the gaps.
