PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Welcome back to school. The 2005-2006 year promises to be an exciting and productive one at Hussar School. We look forward to working together to learn this year. The staff has been working hard to prepare a great learning experience for the students.

As we begin this year we would like to congratulate the Graduates who left in June. Brad Dundas is enrolled in Olds College, Nicky Dundas is at SAIT in Calgary, Debbie Knudsen is attending Mount Royal College, Nicole Santerre is at the University of Calgary and Leslie Morrison and Alex Webber have entered the work force.

Golden Hills Board of Trustees has approved Hussar School’s compressed school week on a trial basis for this year. That means 4 day school weeks – no Fridays unless Monday is a Stat holiday.
We are pleased to hear that the Supernet is well underway and should be working sometime this year.

Welcome to our new students Savanna Richardson-Gr. 1, Chad Albert-Venne-Gr. 3, Dakoda Dobler-Gr. 6, Douglas Vogstad-Gr. 8, Brett Richardson-Gr. 8, Anthony Vogstad-Gr. 9, Brad Venne-Gr. 10, our new Kindergarten class Lane Adamcewicz, Paul Epp, Brooke Fandry, Keegan Gustafson, Spencer Nielsen, Tanner Pickles, Reese Taubert and Samantha Treacy.

YEARBOOK UPDATE:

The 2004-2005 yearbook has been sent to the printers and we are eagerly awaiting an early October arrival date. The cost for the yearbook will be $30.00. Once again, we will have a limited number of copies available this year so you will want to watch for their arrival date. Last year’s yearbooks were a complete sell-out. We appreciate your support. Thanks to all those on last year’s production team; I’m sure you’ll be wanting the “first” look at the final production.

This year’s Yearbook Club will be organizing in early October. The Yearbook Club is open to all students from Grades 7 – 12 so this is perfect for all those aspiring journalists, artists or just those who love to cut and paste! No experience necessary! We welcome back all returning members for more.
This year’s Yearbook Advisors will be Mrs. Moczulski and Mrs. Williams. We look forward to having a productive and enjoyable year.
Mrs. Moczulski

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT MAILBOXES
Personal mailboxes for senior high students continue to be offered. They are located in the High School front entrance.
Unfortunately, we are still only able to offer them to the Senior High students but plan to have a set made for the Junior High students as well (we will install them as soon as they are made and delivered).
The student’s name is written on a label to the left of the mailbox. These mailboxes are to be used for leaving messages, notes, delivered items (Example: forgot an assignment at home and Mom brought it to the school) or items to be picked up (Example: you are sick and Mom wants to pick up some homework for you; the teacher can leave it in your mailbox). Parents are encouraged to use these mailboxes at their convenience.
We ask the students to remember to check their mailbox frequently each day and to not use it as another locker or a filing system. Any mailboxes that become too full will be cleaned out by Administration.
Thank you to Brenda Hager for arranging with her brother to build these boxes for us.

NEW COURSES FOR 2005-2006
