Habitat for Humanity's ReStore in RED DEER accepts and sells used and surplus building materials, hardware, appliances and furniture, and even some household items.  Everyone can shop there. Proceeds go to our low-income housing program.

and some staircases, stringers, iron railings, siding, flooring and wall tile, bricks and blocks, occasional R7 and R12 insulation.

Check around your basement, garage or warehouse for things you no longer need. Products and materials we will readily accept are listed above. We will pick up goods in Red Deer and area. Call the ReStore at 309-6080 in Red Deer for pick-up.

We are busy ...

Please note that it usually takes a couple of days before we can pick up materials, especially in spring and summer.  

We can call ahead by telephone before we arrive on site, to ensure you are available or that materials have been left out-of-doors and accessible for pick-up.

We will definitely not accept ...

Large picture windows, used sealed glass panels, cast-iron (built-in-style) tubs, used paint or other chemicals, fluorescent light fixtures older that 1985 nor 347-volt systems, beds nor mattresses, residential gas furnaces nor gas water heaters.  Appliances must be in working condition and clean.

Income tax receipts ... 

As a registered charitable organization, Red Deer Habitat for Humanity Inc. (the ReStore) may issue tax creditable receipts for materials donated to the ReStore.  Our policy is to appraise the value of used materials at less than our regular sale prices unless materials are actually sold.  We prefer to approve no-charge invoices for new, surplus, end-of-line, ill-manufactured or mis-tinted materials from retailers or manufacturers. 

Sales Policies ...

Price tags rule. All sales final. No cash refunds, except exchange credits possible re major items like appliances.  No personal cheques.  Goods left in store at buyers risk.  We hold merchandise for a limited time.  See store.

Pricing policy ...

As general rules of thumb: Used materials are priced at 30 percent of observed local retail values or less and any new  materials from surplus are priced at 50 percent of observed local retail values or less.  Dimensional lumber materials are normally priced at 60 percent of observed local retail values or less.  Our goal is to provide good value and raise money to build houses for low-income, working families.  Thank you.
