On 19th January 1960, 196 young men arrived at RAF Halton to commence training. They were the94th Entry of RAF Halton Apprentices. The 94th were the first entry to go through the selection process at the old airship station RAF Cardington and were also the first entry to complete all of their first year of training in # 3 Wing. The 94th Entry was the last of the large entries and were reputedly one of the most successful both academically and in engineering achievement. On 19th December, 1962, after a three year apprenticeship, those that were successful in completing the training graduated at the traditional parade. On 7th January1963, the 94th Entry left RAF Halton to begin their careers at selected RAF units.
