This painting was inspired by a recent road trip to England.  We were caught off guard when we encountered the Stonehenge for the first time when we set our GPS incorrectly.  It was near the end of the day,  I was expecting to be near Salisbury but as we got closer, I felt something was not quite right as there was no town in the immediate area.

With diminished light I saw these mysterious group of massive stones arranged in circular design in the middle of the field.   They were so close to the road, I felt I could almost touch them. That surreal encounter created a lasting impression on me.
