www.timberlandpub.com Our local pub. A great kitchen that pumps out great food! Really friendly proprietors and fantastic bar staff. Open from 11 in the morning until 1 in the morning! The Kitchen is usually open until 10 pm. The Beer and Wine store not only has our friend Mona running it but they also have great prices on beer, wine and liquor! The Timberlands Pub is located about 7 minutes from the kamp.
Gina's Mexican Cafeis perched atop the cliff, in downtown Nanaimo, sits one of the gaudiest houses you’ll ever see. From several vantage points in town, your eye can’t help but catch the bright blue, purple, and pink exterior as it sits amid office buildings. This small house is an artistic statement and home to Gina’s Mexican Café. This restaurant offers incredible views of Mount Benson in the west and overlooks the Old Island Highway (Terminal Ave.) that snakes through Nanaimo at the foot of the cliff.

Chemainus - From just five murals and lots of spirit in the summer of 1982, Chemainus has struggled, grown and succeeded in literally putting itself on the map. In 1983, it won the prestigious New York Downtown Revitalization Award for redevelopment of the town core. It has since gained world wide acclaim for the integrity and superb artistry of its huge depictions of the town's history, earning the British Airways Tourism for Tomorrow Award (the Americas) in 1994.
Gabriola Island - Located in Canada in the province of British Columbia. It is about thirty nautical miles west of the city of Vancouver in the Strait of Georgia. It is accessible by direct float plane service from Vancouver Airport. The most preferred route is via BC Ferries from downtown Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Nanaimo can be accessed by BC Ferries as well as regional air carriers serving ~Nanaimo Airport. The population is about four thousand and increases in July and August from seasonal visitors.
