Obituary - Lethbridge Herald January 1, 2004
MRS. MARY CSEKE, beloved wife of Alex Cseke, passed away suddenly at Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday, December 31, 2002 at the age of 76 years. Mary was born on March 6, 1927 in Strathcona, Manitoba to Peter and Theresa Ktronstein. She moved from Regina to Taber when she was eight.
Mary was kept busy in her life as a farm wife, mother and secretary of the Taber Band REA. She later held the position of secreary at the Taber High School and the Sugar Factory. Throughout her later life she was active in the community as a volunteer at the Taber Museum, was a member of the ARts and Crafts Centre where she loved to weave and was a member of the UCW Progressive Unit of the United Church. For the past year she has resided in Canmore, Alberta with her daughter, Linda.
Mary will be sadly missed but fondly remembered byher four children, Peter (Imogene) Cseke and Tom (Irene) Cseke of Taber, Richard (Anne) Cseke of Lethbridge and Linda Cseke of Canmore; grandchildren, Heather (Sean) Ashlee of Calgary, Tyler Cseke, Logan Cseke, Colby Cseke and Renie Cseke of Lethbridge and great-grandson Blake Ashlee of Calgary. She was predeceased by her husband Alex Cseke, parents Peter and Theresa Kronstein andgrandson Kevin Cseke.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel (5005-48 Ave.) Taber on Friday, January 2, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church (4929-50 Ave.) Taber on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Jim Lochhead officiating. Interment to follow at Taber Memorial Garden. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Association, 2100-12A Street, North Lethbridge, Alberta, T1H 2J1 or to the Knox United Church Memorial Fund, 4929-50 Ave., Taber, T1G 1H7. |
