SITTER
MR. FRANK SITTER SR., beloved husband of Mrs. Katherina Sitter of Taber, passed away in Taber on Sunday, August 21st, 1988 at the age of 81 years. Frank was born in Yugoslavia on April 2nd, 1907. He married Katherina Kapel on January 22nd, 1929 in Yugoslavia. Frank came to Canada in 1930 and worked here for three years, returning to Yugoslavia. In 1949 he returned to Canada with his family to the Taber area. In 1952 he bought land at Purple Springs and farmed until retiring to Taber in 1967. His recent years have been spent at the Clearview Lodge. Frank loved the land and animals and was keenly interested in the Cattle industry. Besides his loving wife Katherina, he is survived by three children, Frank (Rose) Sitter and Mary (Frank) Lazar, both of Purple Springs and Veronica (John) Hakstol of Warburg, Alberta; nine grandchildren, Darren, Sandra, Jennifer, Louis, Karen, Shirley, Ken, Cynthia and Valerie; four great-grandchildren, Joanne, John, Tasha and Jennifer; and three sisters in Europe. Frank was predeceased by twin daughters and by one sister. Family and friends may meet for Prayers in St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Taber, on Tuesday, August 23rd at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Church on Wednesday, August 24th at 10:30 a.m. with Father Larry Bagnall Celebrant. MRS. KATHERINA SITTER of Taber, beloved wife of the late Mr. Frank Sitter Sr., passed away in Taber on Friday, November 10,1989 at the age of 81 years. Katherina was born on November 22, 1907 at Sokolovac, Yugoslavia where she was raised and received her education. She married Frank Sitter on January 22, 1929. The couple immigrated to Canada in 1949 settling in Taber. Mr. and Mrs. Sitter bought land in 1952 at Purple Springs where they farmed until their retirement to Taber in 1967. For the past few years Katherina has resided in the Clearview Lodge and the Extended Care Unit of the Taber & District Health Care Complex. Katherina loved flowers, especially roses, and took great pride in her rose gardens. Katherina is survived by three children: Frank (Rose) Sitter and Mary (Frank) Lazar both of Purple Springs and Veronica (John) Hakstol of Warburg, Alberta; nine grandchildren: Darren, Sandra, Jennifer, Louis, Karen, Shirley, Ken, Cynthia and Valerie; five greatgrandchildren: Joanne, John, Tasha, Jennifer and Teigan and four sisters. She was predeceased by.her parents; her husband Frank Sr. in 1988; twin daughters and two brothers. Family and friends may meet for Prayers in the Southland Funeral Chapel on Monday, November 13 at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Taber on Tuesday, November 14 at 10:30 A.M. with Father Andy Corral Celebrant. Interment to follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
