Obituary - Vancouver Sun, November 28, 2007
DEUTSCH Elsie (nee Abram) February 8, 1927 - November 24, 2007 Mum passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday, November 24th, surrounded by family. She is predeceased by her husband, John, and her two sisters, Lydia and Olga. She is survived by her children: Rita (Gerry), Monica, Erwin (Nellie), Diane (Kevin), Elisa (Richard); her grand- children: Jacob (Charlotte), Matthew (Elizabeth), Meagan, Sarah, John, Caroline, David, Michael, Daniel, Rianna and Katrina, and her great-granddaughter, Gabrielle; as well as her brother, Leo Abram. Mum was born in Bogdanka, Poland, leaving a war- torn Europe and emigrating to Canada alone at the age of 20. She had a great love for all her children, and took especial delight in her grand-children and great-grandchild. She had an exceptional talent for making green things grow, and all pets, even wild birds, instinctively recognized her innate kindness. Dear Mum, we would have liked to have kept you here with us for at least a few more years, but we know that your soul has gone on to the reward of peace and rest that it earned most deservedly. The family would like to thank the staff of 4th Medical, ICU and Emergency units of Peace Arch Hospital for the dedicated care of our mother during her last days. A Funeral Service will be held at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby, B.C. on Friday, November 30th, at 10:00 a.m. Internment to follow. There will be a viewing on Thursday, November 27 from 7 pm to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice. Published in the Vancouver Sun and/or The Province from 11/28/2007 - 11/29/2007.
