Simcoe Reformer - February 4, 1970 - Joseph Kichler Sr. - Delhi
KICHLER, Joseph: A requiem mass for Joseph Kichler Sr., 76 of 649 Peel St., Delhi who died Tuesday at Norfolk General Hospital, will be said Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf and Companions R.C. Church, Delhi. Prayers will be said Friday evening at 8 p.m. at the D. L. Murphy Funeral Home by Rev. John Halter who will also officiate at the funeral mass. Mr. Kichler was born in Yugoslavia and was the son of the late Ignac Kichler and mary Hasenfrac. He came to Canada in 1928, settling in Vancouver, BC., where he lived until 1932 when he moved to the Delhi area. He was a tobacco grower in this district for many years, retiring in 1953 and later took up residence in Delhi. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Schneider; three sons, Frank, of R.R. 1, Delhi, John of R.R. 2, Simcoe and Joseph Jr. of R.R. 1 Windham Centre; two daughters, Mrs. Steve (Katherine) Szucs, of Welland and Mrs. Anthony (Eva) Bedesky, of Fenwick. One brother Stanley in Indianapolis, two sisters Mrs. Anna Schild of Germany and Mrs. John (Mary) Penich of Alberta; 17 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Delhi Cemetery.

KICHLER, Mary: Formerly of R.R. 2 Simcoe, passed away at Cedarwood Village Nursing Home, Simcoe on Thursday, January 29, 1998 in her 97th year. Member of St. John Brebeuf Catholic Women's League, Delhi. Former Mary Schneider. Beloved wife of late Joseph Kichler (1970). Dear mother of Katy Szucs, Welland; Frank Kichler (and wife Pauline), Delhi, Eva Bedesky, Fenwick, Joe Kichler, Windham Centre; John Kichler (and wife Agatha), Simcoe. Lovingly remembered by 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. predeceased by sons-in-law; Steve Szucs (1981) and Tony Bedesky (1994). daughter-in-law Mary Kichler (1996) and by 8 brothers. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be held at St. John Brebeuf and Companions Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Friends may call at Murphy Funeral Home, Delhi for visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm), CWL Service to be held Fri. at 3 p.m. and Prayers said Fri. evening at 7:30.
