Obituary: The Vancouver Sun, January 10, 2000

OSTEREICHER, Peter, born in Sokolovac, Croatia on February 22nd, 1926, passed away on January 7th, 2000 after a long but courageous battle with cancer. Peter was a warm and caring man dedicated to his family. Throughout his entire life he maintained a quiet dignity, a positive outlook, thought of others before himself and was always willing to give a helping hand to family and friends. Predeceased by his brothers John, Anton, Steve and Frank and his sisters, Theresa, Juliane and Elizabeth. Peter will be sadly missed but always remembered by his loving family, wife Marie of 46 years, daughter Erica, son Richard (Liz) and his cherished grandchildren Adam and Emma. He is survived by his brother Joseph Estereicher (Cathy) and George Estereicher (Regina). A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 12th at 1:00 p.m. at Victory Memorial Park14831 28th Avenue in South Surrey. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation in the memory of Peter Ostereicher would be appreciated.

OSTEREICHER Marie, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing and say goodbye to our beloved mother and grandmother. Marie passed away peacefully on October 14, 2009 with family by her side after a long but courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Born in Bredtheim, Poland on February 11, 1923, Marie traveled to Canada in 1951 to begin a new life. In 1952 she met the love of her life (Peter) and soon fulfilled her dreams. Marie was a warm and caring woman dedicated to her family. Throughout her entire life she thought of others before herself and was always willing to give a helping hand to family and friends. She has been called home now by the Lord to walk hand in hand with her beloved husband Peter, her brother John, her mother Katharina and her father Konrad. Marie will be sadly missed but always remembered by her loving family, daughter Erica , son Richard (Liz) and her cherished grandchildren Adam and Emma. She is survived by her sister, Hedwig (Dieter) Mobert and brother Heinz (Gabie) Uibel. A celebration of Marie's life will be held on Tuesday, October 20th, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Victory Memorial Park 14831 - 28th Avenue in South Surrey. In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society in the memory of Marie Ostereicher.
