Who is Dragon Hearts?
Dragon Hearts, aka "Dragon Hearts Club" is a dragon boat racing club run by many enthusiastic dragon boat lovers for over 10 years! One of the founders of Dragon Hearts is John Ko. He deals directly with our team. There are also many other founders of the club and many generous people supporting this club in the background.
How many paddlers and spares do you have per team?
We have more than 20 paddlers on our team. We're all paddlers, there are no definite "SPARES" until the week of the Alcan. The coach and captain will evaluate our performance and likely put committed paddlers on the seat first. Who will or will not be a spare depends on attendance. 80% attendance is required to guarantee a seat on the boat for the races. Attendance is a must for the 2 practices prior to race day.
What kind of boats do you use to practice?
Either a Gemini or a 6-16 depending on what we're assigned that day.
