About Us
Beat is an emerging competitive team in the Dragon Hearts club.
In recent years the team has been reaching new heights in the Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival: 4th in Recreational A (2009) and then 7th in Competitive D (2010). As always Beat is looking to improve on their previous results and will be aiming even higher for 2011.
If you don’t mind our competitively spirited enthusiasm…
- grunting and yelling in the boat to support each other,
- rallying the paddlers before a race,
- chanting “J-F-G” (“just _ go”),
- and possibly more crazy rituals to be invented,
…then you will definitely enjoy our team!
We also have a social life in case you can’t get enough of us: eating out after paddling, Rock Band parties, movie nights, and other events.
New and seasoned paddlers of all ages and all sizes are welcome. We only ask for a good commitment to our two weekly required practices, and an appetite to train hard and to race hard.
