THIS PAGE REPRESENTS ACTIVE BID WARS FOR THOSE TEAMS ALLOWED TO BID ON FREE AGENT PLAYER
Step by step as to how this will work:
Step 1 - Flyers have high bid of 50$ on Player X when 24hr entry bids have been received.
New 24hr period begins with Flyers as high bid of 50$.
That will show up below with the other teams listed that all sent in entry bids within ORIGINAL 24hr bid period.
Step 2 - New 24hr period begins at 5:00pmEST Oct 11th let's say.
So bid ends at 5:00pmEST Oct 12th. Bruins in running for player X with Flyers leading in this example.
Bruins send in bid of 60$ at 10:00pmEST Oct 11th, they become new high bid, ties do not become new bid.
Step 3 - If i have time i update the site to reflect this change, HOWEVER, Flyers do NOT have to beat this bid before 5:00pmEST Oct 12th.
I am not playing this out like most leagues.
So when the end time hits I update site saying the Bruins now lead with 60$.
Step 4 - 5:00pmEST Oct 12th arrives with the Bruins now leading with a bid of 60$.
Since the ORIGINAL bid at the beginning of the 24hr period was not their 60$ bid then a NEW 24hr period begins.
The Flyers have a new 24hr period to beat the 60$. Reasoning is i can't always update in time and it
would be unfair to the Flyers if i didn't update the site saying the Bruins were leading.
Step 5 - This seems like it would go on forever so I am enforcing a Rule of no more than 3 different 24hr periods after Entry bids are done.
Meaning the above steps can happen up to three times and if still no winner of FA the 4th 24 hr period becomes an all out WAR.
Whoever has high bid at the end of that 24hr cycle wins the FA...
Step 6 - Depending if Step 5 is reached or not on bids, basically a team will win a bid war when their
ORIGINAL BID at the start of a 24hr bid period is not beat out. Confusing i know, but fair it is. Any question email me please.
*** Nota Bene *** It has come to my attention that as FA Directior I would have any final say in a bid war,
which would make the process inheriently unfiar to the other 29 teams... I have come up with a solution that
may not be perfect, but until something better comes along, it's what I got.
For the 4th 24hr period of bidding, the FFA Bid War. I will POST My Team (CAPS) Final Bids of that day FIVE Minutes before
the bidding is closed. So for FFA bid wars ending at 11PM, My last chance to bid is 10.55 PM. Thus, Any bids for my team
(CAPS) will end 5 minutes Early for the final bid wars, so no matter what, if a GM is online during those 5 minutes
and can send email, he can win the FFA...
I picked 5 mins so it's not too unfair to me, but it still allows Anyone to beat my final bid - so while some may argure
that it is still inherintly unfair to me - the other 29 teams aren't screwed in the process.
